Content	Our 27 year-old son was an addict for 6 years. The last few were spent doing heroin and smoking marijuana. He wanted to try Methadone----what a horrific experience that was to have to take him there every morning. He said the withdrawal from Methadone was worse than the heroin. He tried Suboxone....it didn't work either. All the while counseling was going on too. Then he stole from us, and we forced him to go into Teen Challenge or be arrested. It is an amazing program. They address every area of these addict's lives. It is a very disciplined daily schedule which is wonderful in itself! God met my son there head-on.....the letters I received from there were dreams! He has been clean for one year, works a good job, lives on his own, pays his own bills, is looking into finishing college, is in church every Sunday, is very connected with our large family again. You families have to be tough----take hard stands when you must, but they also have to have your support. Do not ever give up on them. My son made the statement recently that "it is good to have a conscience again"! Sound thinking does return bit by bit. We are very wise to the fact that this is a journey..........but at least we are headed in a productive direction now.
