Content Our story didn't end so well, but maybe this will help your family. My sister passed from "cocaine toxicity" which is a gradual build-up to toxic levels and not an overdose. Our family too tried interventions, rehab, counseling, tough-love, arrests, EVERYTHING. Since her passing we've looked more at mental health instead of drug addiction. I've gone over all her files from the pediatrician which included grade school tests and evaluations. My parents were told that she only had a learning disablity, but 5 years old don't speak of wanting to die with only learning disabilities. As a monday-morning-quarterback, we wish we would have looked more at diagnosis of Borderline disorders (which a very sticky diagnosis and still is now.) That's all I can recommend because in life we need certain events in ourl ives to occur to grow into sound, critical thinkers. But when those moments are not allowed to happen and then drugs are added...that person can never start growing. Good luck, Very lonely sister
