Title Mother helping with sons addiction
Created Monday, Oct. 13, 2008
Content I am not sure what to do or if there is anything that I can do at this point, I have a step brother-in-law who is addicted to heroin, He is in the custody of his grandmother do to the fact that his father commited suicide 8 years ago and his mother has since been on heroin. We recently found out the he has been on heroin for about a year and not only is he getting it from his friends but he is getting it from his mother. He was recently sent to UNI to detox and his mother was allowed to visit him because his grandmother didnt tell the doctors that she is one of the people he is getting the drugs from! He was released from uni about 2 weeks ago and is in a daytime rehab program, his mother is still allowed visitations (again because the grandmother did not tell anyone about the mohter). My husband and are left wondering what to do, the grandmother is not obviously doing enough, there are 2 other siblings living in the same household and we are concerned about them getting mixed up in the samething!
